Herbal Safety
Last updated: October 2026
Herbs have been enjoyed for centuries, and we want you to enjoy ours safely. Please read this before using any of our products.
Not medical advice
Our herbal teas, herbs and botanical extracts are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Anything you read on this website, including our journal, is for general interest only and isn't a substitute for advice from a doctor or other qualified health professional.
Please check with your doctor first if you…
- are pregnant, trying to become pregnant, or breastfeeding
- are taking any medication, as some herbs can interact with medicines
- have a medical condition, or are awaiting surgery
- are buying for a child or an older person
If you notice any unwanted effects, stop using the product and seek medical advice.
Allergies
The ingredients of each product are listed in its description. If you have any allergies or sensitivities, please check them carefully, and get in touch with us before ordering if you're unsure about anything.
All our products are blended and packed by hand, in a space where many other herbs, spices and seeds are also handled. Because of this, we can't guarantee any product is completely free from traces of other ingredients.
Botanical extracts
- Always follow the directions on the label, and don't take more than the recommended amount.
- Some extracts contain alcohol. Please check the label before use.
- Keep out of the reach of children.
Workshops and meetups
Our workshops involve handling and tasting herbs. If you have any allergies, are pregnant or have a medical condition, please let us know when you book so we can help you take part safely.
Storing your herbs
Keep teas and herbs sealed in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, and use them by the date on the packet.
