This page explains what personal information we collect when you use this website, why we need it, and how we look after it. We keep things simple: we only collect what we need to fulfil your order or reply to you, and we never sell your information.

Who we are

Apothecary Guernsey is a small herbal tea business based in Guernsey. For anything to do with your data, contact us at apothecaryguernsey@gmail.com or Apothecary Guernsey, c/o Les Petites Saudre, Grand Douit Lane, St Sampson's, Guernsey GY2 4WG.

What we collect and why

Payments

Card payments are handled securely by SumUp. Your card details go directly to SumUp and are never seen or stored by us.

Our mailing list

If you sign up to our mailing list, or tick "Keep me posted" at checkout, we'll keep your name and email address so we can send you occasional news about new blends, workshops and offers. We'll always ask you to confirm by email first. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to remove you at any time.

Cookies and your basket

We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. Your basket is saved in your own browser (using "local storage"), so it's still there if you come back later. It never leaves your device until you check out, and you can clear it at any time by emptying your basket or clearing your browser data.

Services we use

A few trusted services help us run this website, and may process your information on our behalf:

Some of these services may store data outside Guernsey. Where they do, they're required to protect it to an appropriate standard.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as we need to for tax and accounting purposes, normally six years, and enquiries for as long as they're useful for our conversation with you. After that, they're deleted.

If you start a checkout but don't complete your payment, your details are deleted automatically after 30 days.

Your rights

Under the Data Protection (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 2017, you have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct or delete it. You can also object to how we use it. Just email us and we'll respond as quickly as we can.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to Guernsey's Office of the Data Protection Authority (ODPA) at odpa.gg.
